For one, it allows us to reflect and express our gratitude to all of the incredibly hard-working IT professionals on our team. While the work of many IT professionals often takes place behind the scenes, it does not go unnoticed. Our Story
Varsity began in the classroom. Our CEO and founder, Patrick Ciccarelli found an opportunity to use technology to help his students. When he began to see how technology improved his students’ learning experiences, he established the Cisco Networking Academy to prepare college-aged students in the San Francisco area for meaningful careers in IT.
Patrick’s roots in education ultimately inspired him to form Varsity Technologies. With social impact in our DNA, Varsity has been serving the San Francisco Bay Area (and beyond) for over 25 years. We are fortunate to work with a variety of nonprofits and mission-driven organizations to help them utilize technology to further their impact and improve their community reach.
Our Values
With our defining goal to help create social impact through the strategic use of technology, we help organizations streamline their technology needs, achieve their goals and objectives, and better serve their communities. The IT experts on our team are unique because they are committed to service. Certified B-Corp
Our B-Corp certification is another reason why our team makes us so proud. In 2012, became a B Corp member. In fact, a few months later, we became only the third company in California to change its corporate structure to a formal Benefit Corporation. Since then, we have been committed to the following three aspects: Planet, People and Community. Here’s how we live up to those commitments:
Planet: We strive to implement environmentally-friendly practices into our business. This includes a variety of important business decisions and achievements — from being recognized as a California Green Certified Business in 2014 to becoming carbon neutral in 2020.
People: We believe in creating a workforce that represents the communities we serve. We are committed to supporting diversity, inclusion, and equity hiring efforts. In fact, in 2021, we achieved our goal of minority and gender diversity on our team.
